PRESS RELEASE: Social Media for Lawyers – D.C. Bar Training Series

This fall, D.C. Bar members can learn how to put social media tools to work in their practices at three lunch and learn sessions in the D.C. Bar Conference Center.

The sessions, sponsored by the Practice Management Service Committee and led by Tasha Cooper Coleman, Esq. – CEO of UpwardAction®, a social media, branding and digital communications firm, will cover LinkedIn, Twitter, JD Supra and many other social media tools.

All sessions are free for members of the D.C. Bar Association.

Building Momentum: Practical Tips for Leveraging LinkedIn to Grow Your Practice

During this 60-minute “lunch and learn” training attendees will be shown how to leverage LinkedIn to increase online visibility, expand one’s personal brand and attract new business. Attendees will learn how to-

  • Create a thoughtful LinkedIn profile that shows up in search engine results;
  • Effectively use LinkedIn Groups to build connections and reinforce expertise;
  • Integrate LinkedIn Answers into business development and marketing activities;
  • Leverage the power of LinkedIn Applications to repurpose existing articles, briefings and presentations;
  • Strategically use LinkedIn status updates to build momentum; and
  • Manage time on LinkedIn for maximum results.

During this 60-minute “lunch and learn” training attendees will be shown how to leverage the power of Twitter to establish profitable relationships online and build a personable brand. Attendees will learn how to-

  • Determine what types of personal and professional information is appropriate to share on Twitter;
  • Attract new Twitter followers and turn them into fans;
  • Use Twitter to establish authentic and profitable relationships;
  • Inspire people to share your information with their Twitter followers;
  • Establish Twitter goals and measure the results; and
  • Create time in a busy schedule for Twitter.

Building Momentum: Practical Tips for Leveraging the Power of Legal Networks Like JD Supra and Martindale Connect.

During this 60-minute “lunch and learn” training attendees will learn best practices for leveraging legal industry social networks to increase one’s digital footprint and grow one’s practice. Attendees will cover –

  • JD Supra; and
  • Martindale Connect

Attendees will also learn how to leverage the power of content share sites like SlideShare, ScribeD and others to increase one’s digital footprint for profitable returns.
