George C. Fraser is Chairman and CEO of FraserNet, Inc., the company he founded more than 25 years ago with a vision to build a global networking movement that increased opportunities for people of African descent. He has done that and so much more.
“To lead a global networking movement that brings together diverse human resources, to increase opportunities, wealth and jobs for people of African descent.”
This is the vision of FraserNet and a man whose childhood was less than ideal.
A Voice
Considered the new voice of African Americans and a leader in economic development. Dr. Fraser has written four critically acclaimed books on the subject of building powerful relationships and a children's book. He is also the founder of the annual Power Networking conference, which is the leading African American business networking event.
In addition to his work on behalf of African American business owners, Dr. Fraser is the Chairman of Phoenix Village Academy, which consists of three afro-centric charter schools that serve Cleveland inner-city children.
The Power of Education
Dr. George Fraser was born in Brooklyn New York into a large family of eleven children. He was orphaned at the young age of three when his mother became ill.
There seemed to be little hope growing up on the streets of New York, in and out of foster homes. Dr. Fraser’s own high school guidance counselor told him he should drop out. The school didn’t feel he was “college material.” Dr Fraser had a different idea for his future and paid his own way through college by mopping floors. In 1996, he graduated from the Minority Business Executive program from the prestigious Dartmouth College. He was awarded the Honorary Doctorate Degree of Humane Letters from Jarvis Christian College just three years later.
Making A Difference
Dr. Fraser's views have been solicited by media outlets that include CNN and the Wall Street Journal. UPSCALE magazine name him one of the “Top 50 Power Brokers in Black America.” Black Enterprise Magazine called him “Black America’s #1 Networker” and featured him on a cover issue. Dr. Fraser was also featured in the New York Times-bestseller, Masters of Networking, along with former Secretary of State, Colin Powell.
Dr. Fraser has been married to his bride Nora Jean for 40 years and they have two sons. To learn more about this African American business giant, visit http://frasernet.com/about/george-fraser-bio/.
