During a recent interview, I was asked to share 10 reasons women fail to succeed in business and what could be done to transform failure into success. The information shared on that interview is applicable to all entrepreneurs and professionals, regardless of gender.
Below are seven of the ten things I shared that will lead to failure and what you can do about them.
Reason 1: Limiting beliefs based on external opinions.
Moving Past Failure to Embrace Success: Only YOU can determine what YOU can do. Do not let the negative energy of others, regardless of how well intentioned they may be, block or limit your success. Believe and have faith in your commitment to succeed.
Reason 2: Lack of focus.
Moving Past Failure to Embrace Success: Success flows from clarity about your goals and laser attention to doing what is necessary to make your goals a reality. If an opportunity does not move you in the direction of your goals, it is a distraction. Learn to say no to distractions.
Reason 3: Lack of positive influences.
Moving Past Failure to Embrace Success: Successful people surround themselves with other successful people and with positive energy. Check your environment. If you are not surrounded by action-oriented people and positive energy, change your surroundings. Pay particular attention to the things you are listening to, reading and watching. Stay positive and keep moving forward.
Reason 4: Failure to follow-up.
Moving Past Failure to Embrace Success: Success is the child of follow-up. While it is important to make initial contact with colleagues, prospective clients and your target market; it is ESSENTIAL to follow-up with them. At Upwardaction, we use the UpwardAction Cards system and Aweber to stay in touch with family, friends, clients and colleagues.
Reason 5: Failure to persist through difficult times.
Moving Past Failure to Embrace Success: Learn to take “no” as an opportunity to reposition and represent your ideas, programs and services. Do not give up on your dream. Remember … one YES can make all of the NOs worth the effort. There is momentum in your UpwardAction- so, stay focused and in action.
Reason 6: Operating from a mindset of scarcity.
Moving Past Failure to Embrace Success: You are designed to provide a service and value that can only be provided by YOU. Invest time in becoming very clear about your value. Be actively engaged in building your visibility and sharing your authentic, unique message. Move forward knowing that you can be generous to others without fear of “losing out”. Your ideal clients and opportunities will be attracted to your positive energy and the momentum created by your action. The world is abundant with opportunity.
Reason 6: Lack of gratitude.
Moving Past Failure to Embrace Success: Take stock of what you have in your life (examples include: health, family, sound mind, a spirit to give, space to live, breath, etc.) and be thankful. Your ability to appreciate what you have (regardless of how little or how much) exhibits your capacity to receive more.
Reason 7: Lack of faith.
Moving Past Failure to Embrace Success: An atmosphere of faith and success requires that: (i) you are clear about your vision and goals; (ii) you are focused on doing what it takes to make your goals a reality; and (iii) you expect success.
Your ability to move past failure and embrace success results from your inspired energy and your UpwardAction.
Carpe Diem!

Cool article. I believe lack of focus is the biggest reason of failure.
