Process is key to accelerated achievement. Process (that is, the method by which things happen) can be formal, informal, written or unwritten. Examples of areas that need process are:
* Organizational structure
* Policies and procedures
* Internal and external systems
Missions, vision statements, verbal and written commitments matter very little if your processes do not support the commitments- or, worse yet, if there is to process in place to facilitate accomplishing the commitment.
For example, to say that your organization supports the development of leaders and yet have an insignificant process for training and mentorship (or one that is not managed by a senior level executive) makes it impossible to fulfill this commitment. Why impossible? Because … your words (commitment) are not supported by your processes. To be more blunt, you don’t really plan to develop your leadership team because you have no process or system to do so.
InspiredbyAction Goal: Make sure that your commitments are in line with the “processes” that you have in place.
Action Item: Determine the need, then create a plan of action for solving it.
Until next time … Take Great Care!
